Okay hi!! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet where I talk way too much about a card game that has absolutely no business being this addictive.
👋 Look here: Disney Solitaire Free Stars and Coins
If you're here, you already know. You're stuck on a level. You've got like 3 stars out of 5 and you're ONE. STAR. AWAY. And you're staring at your screen like it personally wronged you. I've been there. I've been there SO many times that my cat has started judging me from across the room.
So let me save you the pain. Here's everything I've learned about racking up Stars and Coins in Disney Solitaire — the stuff the game doesn't really tell you, the stuff I figured out through pure stubbornness and a concerning amount of screen time.
Grab your coffee. Or your tea. Or your wine — no judgment, it's 2pm somewhere, probably.
When I first downloaded Disney Solitaire — and honestly I don't even remember why, I think I was bored on a bus — I just... played. Like a normal person. I didn't care about stars. I didn't care about coins. I just wanted to see if I could beat the Cinderella level.
SPOILER: I could not.
But here's the thing nobody tells you upfront: Stars are your progression currency. You need them to unlock new Disney worlds. And Coins? Coins are what you spend on power-ups and boosters when you're actually stuck. Like a little safety net.
So yeah. They matter. Kinda a lot, actually.
I remember the first time I realized I had like 47 coins and zero stars for the entire Ariel world and I literally said "what am I doing with my life" out loud. My roommate thought I was having a breakdown. I was. A solitaire breakdown.
This is the big one. The thing that changed EVERYTHING for me.
See, every level gives you up to 3 stars based on how many moves you make. Fewer moves = more stars. Duh, right? But here's what I didn't realize at first: you don't have to beat a level in one go to keep your star count.
Wait — actually, let me rephrase that because I almost confused myself typing it.
What I MEAN is: don't just smash through a level as fast as possible hoping for the best. Slow down. Look at the board. Think about your moves. Because if you beat a level in 15 moves instead of 40, you get 3 stars instead of maybe 1. And those stars? They compound. Like, seriously.
I started doing this around level 30-something in the Beauty and the Beast world and I went from averaging 1.5 stars per level to like 2.7. It was embarrassing how bad I was before.
My personal quirk: I literally count my moves now. Out loud. "Move 14... move 15... okay we're still good." My family thinks I've lost it. I haven't. I'm OPTIMIZED.
Okay so Disney Solitaire has this daily spin wheel thing — you know, the little wheel you tap once a day? Most people spin it, get like 50 coins, and move on.
DON'T MOVE ON.
Watch the ad. Yes, I said it. Watch the little 15-second ad for the bonus spin. I know. I KNOW. Ads are the worst. But that bonus spin gives you way more coins — sometimes 200, sometimes 500 — and occasionally even a power-up.
I started doing this every single morning with my breakfast. Like clockwork. Spin, watch ad, bonus spin, collect. It takes maybe 30 seconds. And over a week? That's like 2,000+ extra coins you just... got. For doing nothing.
My friend Jake thinks I'm insane for watching ads in a GAME. Jake, I have 14,000 coins. Jake does not have 14,000 coins. Who's insane now, Jake?
[Editor's note: Jake still doesn't watch the ads. Jake has 800 coins. The power dynamic is clear.]
Okay this one is hard. I know it's hard. Because when you're stuck on a level and you see that "Shuffle" power-up costing 200 coins? It's SO tempting. Just buy it! Just do it!
No.
Save your coins for the HARD levels. The ones where you've tried 11 times and you're about to throw your phone into the ocean. THOSE are the levels worth spending coins on.
I made this mistake SO bad in the Aladdin world. I blew through like 3,000 coins on medium-difficulty levels because I was impatient. Then I hit the Jafar boss level (you know the one, DON'T pretend you don't) and I had 400 coins left. FOUR HUNDRED.
I cried. Not really. But I was close.
Now I have a rule: no spending coins until I've failed a level at least 5 times. Five times. That's my threshold. It's arbitrary. It's sacred.
Okay so here's a thing that not a lot of people talk about. When you make a move in Disney Solitaire, you can undo it — right? Most people know this. But here's what I do:
I make a move, look at the board, and if it doesn't feel right, I undo immediately. Like, instantly. No hesitation.
This sounds obvious but I used to make a move and then just... sit there. Staring. Wondering if it was the right call. Wasting 30 seconds of mental energy. Now I just try it, undo it, try something else. It's like speed-dating but with card moves.
This keeps my move count low (remember — low moves = more stars!) and it also means I'm not emotionally invested in bad decisions. Because let's be honest, sometimes you place a card and you just KNOW it's wrong but you don't want to admit it. Undo fixes all of that. No ego. No attachment. Just clean, efficient solitaire.
My therapist would be proud. Probably.
There's a little section in the game — top left corner, little clipboard icon? — that has daily challenges. Stuff like "Win 3 games" or "Get 10 stars today" or "Use 2 power-ups."
I ignored these for MONTHS. Like, actual months. I thought they were just filler. Boring. Not worth my time.
Then one day I was low on coins and I thought "whatever, let me just do these" and I got like 800 coins and 15 stars from completing them all. FIFTEEN STARS. For stuff I would have done anyway!
Now I check the daily challenges every single time I open the app. It's like finding money in your jacket pocket. Except the jacket is a card game and the money is imaginary. But STILL.
Pro tip: some of the challenges overlap with normal gameplay. Like "win 3 games" — you're probably gonna win 3 games anyway while grinding for stars. So you're basically getting rewarded for doing nothing extra. I love that.
Okay so this is my personal thing and it might be overkill but it works for me so here it is:
I try to get 5 stars on EVERY level before moving on. Not 3. Not 4. Five.
Wait — hold on, most levels only give 3 stars max. Right??
RIGHT. But here's the thing — there are bonus star challenges hidden in some levels. Like "complete without using power-ups" or "finish in under 20 moves." If you complete THOSE, you get extra stars that count toward your total star count for the world.
So my system is: play the level once casually, see what the bonus conditions are, then replay it optimally to hit the bonuses. It takes longer. Sometimes WAY longer. But the star payout is insane.
I spent 45 minutes on one single level in the Moana world last Tuesday. FORTY-FIVE MINUTES. On a CARD GAME. My watch buzzed to tell me I'd been sitting too long. I ignored it. I got 5 stars. It was the most beautiful moment of my week.
My mom texted me "are you okay?" and I sent back a screenshot of my 5-star Moana level. She didn't respond. She never does when I send solitaire stuff. But I know she was proud.
Because I KNOW you're wondering.
Look — I'm not gonna sit here and pretend I never bought the coin pack. I did. Once. The $1.99 one. I felt dirty. I also felt like a king. It was a confusing emotional experience.
BUT. Most of my coins came from:
✅ Daily spin wheel + ad bonus (like I said, EVERY day)
✅ Daily challenges (consistently)
✅ Level completion rewards (obviously, but people forget to collect them — I set a phone reminder to open the app twice a day just to collect)
✅ Watching the "earn coins" video offers when they pop up — I know, I KNOW, but a 30-second video for 500 coins? I'll do it. I have no dignity at this point.
✅ The occasional level-up reward when you finish a whole Disney world. THOSE are juicy. Finishing Beauty and the Beast gave me like 5,000 coins. I did a little dance. In public. On the bus. People stared.
Okay real talk for a sec.
I never thought I'd be the person writing a blog post about solitaire tips. Like, me? The person who can't fold a fitted sheet? Writing a STRATEGY GUIDE?
But Disney Solitaire got me. It really got me. There's something about hearing that little chime when you place a card, or seeing the Disney characters react when you win a level — Gaston literally does a little spin when you beat his level and I will NOT be taking questions about why that made me emotional.
And the stars and coins thing? It became this little game within the game. This puzzle of "how do I maximize everything." And I'm a nerd for optimization. I always have been. I once spent 3 hours figuring out the best route for a road trip and saved 11 minutes. ELEVEN. My friends still bring it up.
So yeah. This is my solitaire blog now. I'm not sorry.
Alright that's my whole thing. If you made it this far, first of all — respect. Second of all — go open Disney Solitaire and spin that wheel. Right now. I'll wait.
...
Okay I won't wait. Go get those stars. ⭐
And if you try my 5-star Moana strategy and it takes you an hour, just know: I believe in you. 💛
