I've been playing Hotel Legacy for quite a while, and my in-game lobby looks much nicer than my own. My partner walked by my phone last week and said, "we could never afford that," referring to my virtual chandelier. I know babe, which is why I have this game. Anyway, when I started playing, I was
BROKE. All my diamonds went down the drain in a day, and my coins were spent on a decorative fountain that mocked me. But after a few months, I've learned how to stack the two currencies without emptying my wallet, as I discovered some methods that helped me greatly. Here's what I've learned, fresh as room service coffee!
Log in every day. Yes, EVERY day.
I know, I know, groundbreaking advice. The daily login rewards are an under-appreciated source of diamonds in the game. And if you do it for a while, the streak bonuses are really nice! There was this day, I remember, where I had a 21-day streak broken by going camping and losing signal. I remember sitting in my tent in the rain, desperately holding my phone up to the sky. It didn't work, and my streak died in the forest. Set a reminder for when you wake up, or play a song as you brush your teeth. Anything to remind you to log in!
Embrace the ads (I know, I KNOW)
Okay, fine. No one here likes them. But the optional ad rewards are worth it, trust me. You get free diamonds and coin boosts by watching them. A few seconds of ads for diamonds and coins and energy, a price I'm willing to pay. My way of doing this is watching ads while doing chores. Fold laundry? Watch an ad. Wait for the pasta water to boil? Watch an ad. My house has never been cleaner, nor my diamond count healthier. My therapist would call this a 'productive coping mechanism'. I call it multitasking.
Save the quest list as your bible
Before I do anything in a session, I look at my quests and achievements. This was a game-changer (pun intended) for me. See, I used to play the game, just play it. Then, when I shut it down, I'd go to my achievements and realize I hadn't upgraded the bathroom for THREE DAYS. THREE DAYS I had spent playing the game, and I only got a 50-diamond reward for upgrading the bathroom. Now, I work everything around my quests. Do what the quest says, the diamonds and coins will come. It's like having a treasure map, why would you not use one?
Save your diamonds for events. Trust me.
This is a hard lesson for me to stomach, but events are a diamond-multiplier. The limited-time events, usually with boosted rewards and unique items, will earn you rewards that outshine anything else for a while. The key to this is, save up diamonds and coins for them. Hoard the stuff like some rich dragon with anxiety. The first event I played, I went in with 12 diamonds and a dream, and I finished in the middle of the pack. I got a potted plant. That was not a good day
Coins: invest in money-makers before pretty things
Ugh, okay, this is the golden flamingo section. Fine.
Early on in the game, I had a decent amount of coins saved up. Instead of investing in the revenue rooms, I bought a giant golden flamingo for the pool area. It looked nice, but it did not make any money. My rooms stayed shabby, and my guests stayed grumpy. My coins increased by a snail's pace for a week. Invest in the rooms and facilities that make money first, then the decorations. Upgraded rooms bring happy guests with more coins per stay. Then you can get a pretty flamingo and name it Gerald. He'll thank you.6. Never, ever spend diamonds to speed up timers
It's like paying for water at the airport, the timer will finish on its own. All you have to do is close the game and return to it later. The purpose of a timer is to be bypassed by time, not diamonds. The only time I'll ever spend a diamond to get rid of a timer is for permanent things in the game
Set alarms for the free chests
The free chests are money on the street, and yet people leave them. Chests and timed rewards usually refresh every few hours.Set an alarm for when you think they'll be available, maybe a recurring one. Did it once go off while I was at work? Maybe. But it's a small price to pay for free gold.8. Be social (yes, even in a hotel game)
If you're not connected to friends and a community in the game, you're leaving freebies on the table. Referral bonuses, gifts, leaderboard rewards, the works. I dragged two of my real-life friends into this game just for the referral diamonds, and one of them is even obsessed with the game more than I am! I have created a monster. A monster whose name is Beatrice, who sends me gifts daily. No regrets.
That's everything I learned about stacking up diamonds and coins in Hotel Legacy. Log in every day, embrace the ads, check the quests, save for events, invest into money-making, never speed up timers, set alarms for free chests and be social. Do all this, and your diamond count will slowly build up. It did for me, up until I bought Gerald a friend, Beatrice. I've earned it this time, but I'll be glad when she's gone. Now I want to hear from YOU about what your best diamond-saving tricks are! What are some of your embarrassing purchases in the game? Put it in the comments so I feel better about buying a flamingo! Until next time, keep the lobbies shiny, and the five-star reviews coming in. 🛎️✨
