Look: Get Jelly Busters Free Gold Coins Codes
Hey hey hey, it's me, the girl with 4 gold coins in her inventory and a dream in her heart! 😅
If you've been playing Jelly Busters for longer than 45 minutes (and trust me, you know who you are), you understand the feeling of sitting in front of the game with a board full of wobbly little jelly cubes, no lives and all boosters used up, facing a smug little shop with "Need some coins? Sure I can help, dear!" written on the walls in sparkling letters.
I'm here to tell you that I've been there, too many times to count and I'm starting to suspect that the game knows when I'm likely to panic-buy. So today I'm going to share with you the things that actually helped me in my jelly journey - and no, it's not those top 10 tips articles written by people who have never even played the game. These are my dirty, personal and slightly cringey tips.First of all, let me brag a little about my experience
For my first two weeks in the game, I believed that gold coins were only for premium currency that I would never have. I spent them like they were going out of style - and each level that I failed swallowed 90 gold coins in one bite, and two such levels made me sobbing into my phone at 1 AM.
Until one day, my friend Mara, who by the way is way better at this game than me said a wise word:"Stop spending coins on levels! Spend them on tools. Levels you can retry, tools change the whole situation!"And she was right, but I'm getting to that.
Let's get to the good stuff - here are my personal, no-judgment, slightly cringey but very genuine tips for surviving Jelly Busters with your wallet intact.
1. The daily reward wheel is not a suggestion, it's a holy grail
I know, I know, it's the most boring advice ever. But listen to me: a long time ago, I used to skip the daily wheel because "50 coins wasn't worth the tap", but then I did some calculations (on the back of my phone, while eating cereal) and realized that 50 coins every other day would give me a continue every month, and sometimes even a booster (and trust me, those are where the gold coins are!).
My personal tip here is to set a reminder on your phone called JELLY TIME at 8:15 PM (yes, I named it, and no, I'm not sorry).
2. Don't buy continues - buy pre-boosters
This one is a real life lesson. Whenever I failed a level, the game would offer me to retry it for coins. It felt evil, but it is actually a trap with pretty faces.
The thing that I do know is that if I have an idea of a level being difficult (and oftentimes you can tell by the "jelly boss" or "weird grid" pop up), I buy a pre-booster (like rainbow jelly or line clear) for less than a continue would cost me, and increase my chances of beating it rather than just getting more tries with no change.
I almost broke myself with level 147, because I spent 200 coins on continues over three days, but then I tried a pre-booster and a color bomb combo, and boom! I won it in my first attempt! I was so smart!
😅3. The "one more try" rule
I have a little rule for myself - if I've failed a level twice in a row, I'll stop there and do something else (usually watch my cat with silent judgment) and go back to it later. Chances are - and trust me, this isn't just my delusion - it will be easier next time.
I don't know if it's just a matter of time or my brain quietly figuring out the pattern, but either way, this rule has kept me sane in more situations than I can count.
4. Events are where the gold coins live.
While the regular levels give you some coins to play with, all the good stuff is in the events! I used to skip them because it felt like extra work, but then I realized how much they helped me. Especially the weekend events, which have a little jelly party theme, have given me coins beyond what I could imagine.
My personal rule is to not try to complete every objective, but to do the ones that are simple. If "collect 50 blue jellies" is too hard, skip it, but if "clear 3 levels without boosters" is right there waiting for you - take it!
5. Watch the ads. Yes, it's gross but it's true.
I know, I'm not proud. But the 25 coins for a watch is honestly the best ROI (return on investment) in the whole game. I watch the ads while I make my coffee in the morning, and it's not a lie when I say that maybe half of the coins in my inventory are there due to this little time investment, and my only cost was watching someone try to convince me to buy a mattress that I don't need.
6. Don't hoard! Spend wisely but spend!
I used to be a coin hoarder. I'd have 800 coins and not touch them, until I reached a wall and couldn't spend any of them and give up entirely for a week. That's worse! I'm here to tell you that coins are meant to be used wisely but spent! My rule for myself is to keep a floor of 150 coins, and spend the rest on pre-boosters for levels that I care about.
The thing that people don't tell you
The game is made to trick you into thinking that you're almost winning, but it's never quite there. And once I stopped feeling defeated and accepted that I was just playing a game that wanted me to spend coins, I was able to play it better, ironically.
My "starter pack" if you're new
If you've downloaded the game and are reading this with zero coins and a dream in your heart, here's what I recommend:
Do the daily wheel every day (no excuses!), keep your first 100 coins as a prize, and when you hit a wall around level 20-30 (it always happens) - invest in a pre-booster rather than a continue. Watch ads while you do something else (multitask like a champ!), and join the weekend events even if you only do half of them.Wrapping it up
I'm not a pro by any stretch of imagination, and I'm still failing levels regularly and panic-buying continues at 11 PM and feeling ashamed about it. But I've managed to go from a broke Jelly Busters main to a comfortably middle class (in terms of coins) player, and I'm happy to say that if you have any personal Jelly Busters tips, drop them in the comments below - I'd love to hear them!
And if you see someone named JellyBeanBandit in your leaderboard, that's me! I'm not a pro, but I'm persistent, and that's half the battle. Now if you'll excuse me, my JELLY TIME reminder is waiting for me! 🎉
