Un dels grans poetes catalans de tots els temps i un dels grans poetes europeus del segle xxA l’Obra poètica en vers s’hi recull, és clar, tota l’obra canònica de Foix: els cinc llibres que va publicar entre 1947 i 1964, més un opuscle del 1957 —un diàleg poètic amb Joan Ferraté— i els poemes dispersos que va incloure el 1974 en el volum que recollia la seva poesia en vers. Però l’edició inclou també un amplíssim apartat de poemes dispersos i que inclou textos fins ara mai divulgats.
