Durante la tragedia, un poeta y político de América del Sur llevó hacia Chile, su país, a más de 2.000 personas a bordo de un barco. El poeta se llamaba Pablo Neruda y enseñó al mundo qué era comprender a los demás y estar cerca de ellos. Qué era ayudarlos. Dicho de otra manera, enseñó a todos qué era la solidaridad. En 2009 se cumplieron 70 años de la salida de puerto del barco. Recordémoslo."
