Con Redoble de conciencia, tercera entrega de la Biblioteca Blas de Otero, auspiciada por la Fundación del poeta, su autor obtuvo el prestigioso Premio Boscán en 1950. Un año después y sorteando a duras penas la censura del régimen franquista, Blas de Otero publicó en Barcelona, en el Instituto de Estudios Hispánicos, los poemas premiados que, con el tiempo, serían refundidos con los de Ángel fieramente humano para cuajarse en Ancia. Ese "redoble de conciencia" que resonaba en los versos del autor vasco era, esencialmente, el sonido de la autenticidad de una poesía comprometida con su tiempo y con sus compatriotas, sin olvidar jamás el compromiso con la propia palabra.
