S'affranchissant des temps, attribuant le mégalithisme aux celtes, s'appuyant sur des écrits imaginés (les écrits d'Ossian), le roman national finit par imposer une origine mythique.
Au cours des deux dernières décennies, les avancées scientifiques de la recherche et les travaux des archéologiques contribuent à porter l'origine de l'identité des Armoricains/Bretons vers le début du néolithique ; soit 4 500 ans avant que le mot Ketloï apparaisse.
