Who Can Use Instagram Insight Analytics?

Instagram Insights is available only for businesses and creators. If you have an individual account, you will not be able to use the analytics dashboard.

So, if you are getting started on Instagram, opt for a professional account. If you already have an account, you can switch to professional or brand account from the settings menu of your Instagram App.

Once you have a professional or brand account, you will be able to see the “Insights” tab on your profile. When you tap on this tab, you will be able to see the insights on the performance of your account and updates.

Audience Analytics 

Using the insights tab on your Instagram profile, you can see how many followers you have gained or lost over a period of time.

For that, you will need to scroll down to Your Audience section..

Post (Images) Analytics 

The performance of posts you send on your timeline can also be measured. Just tap on the Content You Shared section, and you will be able to see the metrics post wise.

Here, you can see how many people tapped on the call/email/get directions button, commented, liked, saved, or shared your content, along with reach, impressions, profile visits, link clicks, and website visits.

This is the best way to estimate whether or not your content appeals to your audience. 

Video Analytics 

Though Reels are also a type of video, Video Analytics is different from Reels Analytics. It allows you to calibrate how well your videos work.

These are the videos that you share on your Instagram feed or timeline. You can see this data in the Insights tab under the “Content You Shared” section. 

Stories Analytics 

Stories is another way you can show your content or brand promotions to your audience. And you can measure it too.

You can find performance metrics of your Instagram Stories under the “Content You Shared” section. Tap on the arrow in front of the stories, and you will be able to fetch details of each story you have created in the past 90 days.

To be specific, you can see how many people taped back, call or email button; followed you; moved to the next story; clicked on the link; and visited your profile.

Reels Analytics

Reels is a TikTok-like addition on Instagram that allows creators and brands to share creative (video) content on the platform. You can assess the performance of your reels, separately from feed videos.

These metrics are  available in the insights tab. You can see how many times your video was played and the interactions it generated. In addition to these, you can see how many people liked, commented, saved, or reached your Reels content.

Live Analytics

Instagram allows creators and brands to go live as well. You can dive into the insights of your live streams too.

You can see how many people reached, commented, shared, and engaged on your live stream. 

Shopping Analytics

You can also sell on Instagram. You can create shoppable posts or content on Instagram, and when you do that, you can weigh up their performance data. 

You can check which products are doing well, and which ones need more attention or should be reoffered.
