With 76.50 percent of social media users in India, Instagram is the most popular social media site today in 2022. Young people, particularly teens, make up a large portion of Instagram’s user base. The parent firm, Facebook, spent $1 billion on Instagram. It has evolved into a lucrative source of revenue for artists and a valuable sales channel for corporations.
Instagram was the most downloaded viral short video social media app in India’s App Store and Google Play from January to June this year. As per data shared by Sensor Tower with ET, Instagram clocked 118,700,000 downloads while Facebook clocked 86,600,000 downloads during the same period. India is leading the pack with a majority of Instagram users residing in the country. 201.1 million Instagram users are in India, to be exact.
