- Login to the app YouTube.
- Tap Create (+) > Create Shorts video.
- To create a Shorts video longer than 15 seconds, tap 15 above the record button to record up to 60 seconds (60).Note: Recordings using music from our collection or original audio from other videos are limited to 15 seconds.
- (Optional) Tap Speed to speed up or slow down the recording.
- (Optional) Tap Timer to set a countdown for hands-free recording and select a time to automatically stop recording.
- To record a clip, hold down the record button or tap the button to start and tap again to stop recording.
- Tap undo to delete the video clip you recorded earlier, or tap repeat to add it again.
- Tap done to preview and improve your video.
- Tap NEXT to add details to your video. From this screen, add a title (max. 100 characters), and select a setting, such as video privacy. Note: The default video privacy setting for creators aged 13–17 is private. If you are 18 years or older, the default privacy setting for your videos is public. Everyone can change this setting to set the video to
public, personal, or not public.
